I am insured through consumers energy service plan so had to use this company. I own a mobile home. They led me to... believe they were going to do the work I needed done after the inspection I didn't here from them so I called they told me that they couldn't locate a hot water tank the size required and that it was VERY EXPENSIVE. I told them that home depot sells the one I require If I purchase they will install at a high price Just giving me a runaround I reported the company to Consumers and I will not call them for service again. THEY DO NOT WORK ON MOBILE HOMES.read more

Wow what a great company. It is rare to find a service company that is both honest and competent, but that is what I... have found with A & F Water Heating. I was especially impressed with Ty, the service representative who came to my house. Not only did Ty quickly and accurately diagnose the problem, but he took the initiative to fix several other issues I did not even know I had, all of which was the result of work done previously by other less trustworthy companies. Ty not only fixed my water heater (under warranty), he also replaced and fixed the slope of the drain, extended the length of the hose from the humidifier into the drain, replaced the flashing on the flu and repositioned the drain hose in the crawl space which was pouring water into the crawl, all at an incredibly reasonable price. I will be using no one but A and F in the future. Way to go Ty and A and F.read more

Please give A & F Water Heater a call for your hot water needs. Needed warranty work on new hot water heater. Returned call, left voicemail. No response. Called again and got... appointment scheduled. Had appointment rescheduled 3 times only after calling and asking for ETA and they kept saying “ oh you’re not on the books today”.Would not recommend at all. Ended up replacing part myself. They didn’t even say sorry when they realized I wasn’t on the schedule.read more

These people will try and charge you for service even when no service is rendered! Disgusting and dishonest business... tactics!I called and asked to have someone come out and "take a look" at my water heater because it was leaking and I expressed that I knew it probably needed to be replaced. So, when they got here and said as much it wasn't a surprise. I was given a quote for this and then told there would be a $135 "service call" charge right then and there.What service?! I was NEVER told there would be a service charge just for coming out to give me a quote. That's unheard of and I would never have agreed to it! No other company would try to charge you for evaluation like this. Just call around and see for yourself.read more

Had AF replaced the thermocouple 5 months ago. Thermocouples are supposed to last a few years. Again, my water... heater’s thermocouple is malfunctioning. I called them to let them know that and have someone come repair it. I was told that they will be charging me for the service call AND any parts to repair. They just replaced it 5 months ago!!!! I am highly disappointed with my experience with this company. I had water in my basement by my water heater and... thought it was leaking. We found it was under warranty and was told A&F would be who we have to go through. A tech came out and "inspected" the unit and told us it would need to be replaced. The quote to have the the unit replaced was $700 for labor, which the tech indicated would take an hour and a half ($467/hr - I am in the wrong industry). We told the tech that we wanted to explore our options due to the cost and he told us it would be $135 for the service call that we were not informed of prior to. Talk about sticker shock. I called the next day and regretfully paid the $135 service charge and asked for a call from the owners to discuss the labor cost and never received a call back. That night we noticed a dripping sound coming from our furnace and realized that a clogged condensation line from the AC was our culprit and the water heater wasn't leaking at all. We almost spent $835 to replace a water heater that was covered by a warranty that didn't even need to be replaced based on the instruction from this company. We are now up to 3 requests to be called by the owners and are yet to get a response. I expect to be reimbursed the $135 charge since we ended up diagnosing the problem ourselves and will be disputing the charge with my credit company if the company does not do the right thing.read more

I think I might've bought a lemon of a water heater from Rheem for my tenant occupied condo. The day after I had my... brand new Rheem water heater installed, the hot water stopped working. Rheem sent an approved company to fix it, but six months later, the hot water went out again. Rheem sent A&F this time. Larry called at 7:30am and said he was on his way! It was so early, but I was THRILLED that he came so early, as we wanted the hot water running ASAP! Unfortunately the hot water went out again two days later and this time Norm came to fix it. Norm was amazing! He determined it was my power vent and went above and beyond and called Rheem for me to order the new part. Before he left, he showed my tenant how to reset the hot water if it went out again before the part came in. After Norm left, the A&F's main office called me to let me know that even though I didn't have the part yet, they still put me on the schedule for the day the part was expected to arrive, as they knew I was really anxious to get things fixed as fast as possible. When the part finally arrived, Norm was once again assigned to me and he came out first thing in the morning. He replaced the power vent and called me to follow up. Great service!! Also, the ladies in the office were nothing short of awesome! For nearly two weeks during my ordeal, I called the office every day, to make sure things were scheduled and to give/get updates. By the time my job was completed, every single person in the office knew who I was and greeted me with cheer when they answered. Despite the fact that I was practically harassing them, every single person was nice to me and extremely patient. And that's not an easy thing to do when you're probably greeted with angry people all day, because they're mad that they're water heater broke down! So grateful to A&F!read more

Our tankless hot water heater had issues heating water where for several weeks we had to restart the system daily to... get it to work. Garrett came out to diagnose it on a Thursday or Friday. The entire unit needed to be replaced and he called it in and arranged for the new unit which was covered by warranty. The plan was to get it swapped the next week. We expected the unit to keep heating the water while we waited for the new unit to come in, but it stopped doing that the next day. We left a message and let them know we were without hot water. Early Monday they called to let us know that the new unit would be available and installed Tuesday. Garrett and Norm showed up on Tuesday and I found out they had rearranged their schedule and pulled some strings to get this done early for us. Otherwise we would have gone a full week without hot water. This company and everyone that we interacted with are top-notch. They actually care and do a great job!read more

My husband and I highly recommend this company because of their integrity and customer service. They saved the day!! ... We have a Noritz tankless water heater thats 11 years old was having a combustion issue and wasn’t working. I called them December 30, and the receptionist was professional and friendly- the technician arrived within 1 hour! Garrett was professional and efficient. He quickly diagnosed the issue, explained that parts were needed for the repair but that his manager just placed an order for parts but that these weren’t arriving for another 4 weeks or so. His Manager approved for Garrett to provide me with the part numbers and direct phone number of a company that could overnight these to us. What really stood out was that Garrett and the receptionist slated a tentative appointment for us to be the last stop of the day on the next day (New Years Eve) based on the parts arriving. This company didn’t have to care or do that, but they did. So Ken was the technician that arrived December 31 around 4:30pm..Our parts were on the way based on the tracking #, but still in transit. Ken said that he had to run a quick errand to pick up work materials nearby but promised that he would return. At this point we couldn’t wait any longer. My husband went out looking for the the UPS truck and returned with our package. Ken returned to our home and quickly repaired the Noritz. We were extremely grateful and appreciative. It was New Years Eve, had a party to attend and needed to shower! Ken went above and beyond, was patient, professional and efficient. It meant a lot to us that this company did what they said that they were going to do- that’s integrity.
